ABOUT ME
Patricia Glee Smith was born at Savanna, Illinois, USA. She studied fine arts (painting) at the University of Illinois at Urbana and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. In Italy she studied etching at the Scuola del Libro in Urbino.She is a fellow of the MacDowell Foundation for writers and artists and of the Ragdale Foundation in the USA. She has painted trompe l'oeil and murals in Europe and the USA. She was a contributing artist to the New Yorker Magazine for many years. She worked for many years with the National Museum of Oriental Art of Rome since 1976 as art director and artist. She worked as expedition artist in Italy, Turkey, the Yemen and Tibet. She participated in exhibitions with etchings and paintings in institutions and galleries in Europe, the USA and in the Yemen. She lives in Otricoli, Umbria.
